Trust & Safety

FindGo only works if people can rely on what they find. This page explains where our listings come from, how we verify business owners, how we moderate content and how we keep advertising separate from everything else.
Where listings come from
Most listings start from open, licensed place data published by the Overture Maps Foundation and OpenStreetMap contributors. We clean that data, remove duplicates and assign categories before a listing is published. We only use factual details such as the business name, category, address, phone number, website, coordinates and hours.
We never copy descriptions, reviews, ratings or photos from other websites.
Verified business owners
Owners can claim a listing for free. Before anyone gets control of a page, we check that they represent the business — with a one-time code sent to the business's email address, or through a manual review by our team. Claimed listings show a "Claimed by owner" badge. If someone takes control of a listing they don't represent, we will reverse the change and may close their account.
Honest reviews
- Reviews must describe a real, first-hand experience.
- Businesses may not pay for, trade for or pressure customers into reviews, and may not review themselves or competitors.
- Businesses may not use contracts or fees to stop customers from posting honest reviews. Federal law (the Consumer Review Fairness Act) makes such clauses void.
- Advertising never changes a business's rating, its reviews or its position in organic results.
How we moderate
New content passes automated checks for spam and abuse. People on our team review reports and make the final call against our Content Guidelines. We remove content that breaks the rules, but we generally don't take sides in factual disagreements between a reviewer and a business — both can share their perspective within the guidelines.
Requests to correct business details are usually handled within a few business days.
Clearly labeled advertising
Businesses can pay for promoted placements. Every paid placement is labeled "Sponsored" or "Featured", so you can always tell an ad from an organic result. See Ad Choices for details.
Protecting the directory
FindGo does not sell personal information. Automated scraping and bulk copying of the directory are prohibited by our Terms of Service, and we use technical measures to block abusive traffic.
Report a problem
