Overview
The Hive is a coffee shop and bar on Menchaca Road in far south Austin. Places that combine coffee and drinks usually start the day with lattes and remote workers and turn into a relaxed evening hangout. Neighbors in this part of town who want a local gathering spot are the regular crowd.

Getting there
The Hive is about a 20-minute, 0.9-mile walk from the Slaughter & Riddle bus stop. Head south and turn right onto Allred Drive, then right onto Menchaca Road, which you follow for about a quarter mile. Later, take Redwater Drive briefly and rejoin Menchaca Road, and The Hive will be on your right.
